Cancer Support Services
The Wellness Community of Greater Columbus is a non-profit organization offering free professional programs of cancer support, education and hope to those affected by cancer. The Wellness Community has weekly and monthly support groups facilitated by licensed clinical counselors and social workers, educational seminars provided by oncology healthcare specialists and wellness practitioners, weekly stress management activities such as yoga, pilates, Lebed, Chi Lel Qigong and meditation and social events to celebrate survivorship. All services are open to those with cancer and their support persons and are provided at no cost. Our national website is thewellnesscommunity.org. Foster Parents Needed
Give a child a chance to succeed by becoming a special caregiver. Parenthesis Family Advocates is currently looking for individuals or couples to provide care in Franklin and surrounding counties to children with emotional, behavioral, mental, and/or physical delays or disorders. The Jobs Choices Center
The Job Choices Center, located at the Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, serves more than 10,000 people annually. Some of the services provided at over 100 area locations include: hearing aids, speech therapy for children and adults, occupational therapy and treatment, hearing evaluations, and various vocational services. Senior Employment Center (a Division of Mature Services, Inc.)
Contact James Tolliver at 614- 586-1975 or 1-866-487-1687. The Center provides employment opportunities for individuals over the age of 55, with an income no more than 125% of the proverty level. The organization is funded by the State and Federal governments so all services are at no charge. The Center has several programs to help older workers update their skills and to gain training for full or part-time jobs.
