MINDY MCCREADY IN REHAB

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A possible setback for Mindy McCready's hopes for a comeback. People.com reports the singer is in rehab. Her publicist isn't saying for what. But she did make a trip to a Nashville ER on July 16th. In a statement, McCready's rep says, "To her credit, she has entered into an extended-care facility where she will receive the care needed." Last month, McCready was arrested in Tennessee and charged with violating probation for a 2004 drug charge. Authorities accused her of falsifying her community service records. McCready had a Number 1 single in 1996 with "Guys Do It All the Time." In May, she offered fans to her Web site a free song called "I'm Still Here." She wrote the song in jail.

VINCE GILL EMBARKS ON MAJOR U.S. TOUR

UNDATED (AP) -- Vince Gill is keeping it simple when he heads out on a major U.S tour next month. He'll be accompanied only by a pianist and a percussionist. The tour is being billed as "A Special Acoustic Evening With Vince Gill." Gill says fans will hear his most notable songs, some new material and a bunch of stories. This back to basics is a change for Gill, who toured with a 17-piece band when he hit the road in 2006 and 2007. He says he wanted to do something different this year. He says he got the idea after seeing James Taylor on tour. Taylor had a kind of one-man band show. Gill says "I'm going to tour basically the same way -- pared down and informal." Gill's tour starts August 18th in Wellington, Ohio, and wraps up November 24th in Alexandria, Virginia.
